Legal

Most pages like this one are written by lawyers, for lawyers. This one is written by me, in plain English, because you ought to be able to read it without a translator.

The short version: I don't sell your information. I don't hand it to anyone who isn't helping me keep this website running. If you'd rather I didn't have it at all, ask me and it's gone.

What this site collects

When you use the contact form. Your name, email address, and message — plus your phone number, business name, and current website if you choose to fill those in. That form doesn't save anything into a database on this site. It sends me an email and that's the end of it.

When you visit any page. The web server keeps a standard access log: your IP address, which pages you looked at, the date and time, what browser you used, and which site sent you here if any. Every web server on the internet does this. It's how I find out that something is broken or that a bot is hammering the site at three in the morning. Those logs rotate off the server on their own after a short period.

Spam protection. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which decides whether you're a person or a script before your message goes through. Cloudflare sees some technical details about your browser and connection in the process. I never see that data — I just get a yes or no. Cloudflare's own privacy policy governs what they do with it.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets cookies in your browser and tells me things like "forty people looked at the Pricing page this week." It does not tell me who you are, and I don't try to work it out. If you'd rather not be counted, any browser extension that blocks analytics scripts will keep you out of it, and I take no offense.

What I do with it

I answer you. That's the whole list.

I don't sell contact information, I don't rent it, and I don't feed it into a mailing list because you asked a question once. If I ever start a newsletter, you'll have to ask to be on it — I won't add you because you filled out a form.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that make this site work: the hosting provider that runs the server, the email provider that carries my mail, Cloudflare for the spam check, and Google for analytics. Nobody else. I don't share your information with other businesses, and I don't use it to advertise to you anywhere.

The one exception is the boring one: if a court ordered me to hand something over, I'd have to comply. It has never happened.

How long I keep it

Contact form emails sit in my inbox for as long as they're useful — often years, because a question from 2019 turns into a project in 2026 more often than you'd think. Server logs age off on their own. Analytics data follows Google's own retention settings.

Your say in it

Email or call me and I'll tell you exactly what I have with your name on it, and delete it if you want me to. No form to fill out, no verification process. You'll be talking to the same person who has the data.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners, not kids. I don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

If this policy changes

I'll update the date at the top. If something meaningful changes — not a typo fix, an actual change in what I collect or who sees it — I'll say so on this page rather than quietly editing it.

Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of this website. If you're a client of mine, the work I do for you is governed by the agreement we signed, not by this page. Where the two ever disagree, your agreement wins.

The content here is mine. The writing, design, logo, and photographs on designingresults.com belong to Designing Results. You're welcome to read it, quote a line with credit, or send someone a link. Copying whole pages onto another website isn't welcome, and I do notice.

Client names and logos aren't. Any business names, logos, or website screenshots referenced here belong to those businesses, and appear with their permission.

No guarantees about the information itself. I try hard to keep this site accurate and online, but I'm not promising it's error-free or available every minute of every day. Prices, plan contents, and technical details change. If something here matters to a decision you're making, ask me and I'll confirm it directly.

Links to other sites. Where I link out to a client site, a tool, or a resource, I don't control what's on the other end and I'm not responsible for it.

Limits. To the extent Iowa law allows, I'm not liable for losses arising from your use of this website. Reading a page here doesn't create a client relationship — signing an agreement does.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.

Accessibility

I build with accessibility in mind: real heading structure, meaningful alt text on images, keyboard-reachable navigation, and color combinations chosen for contrast rather than just for looks. This site is designed to work with screen readers and to stay readable in both light and dark mode.

I'm not going to claim formal certification or full conformance to a published standard. I'm one person, standards move, and a claim like that is easy to make and hard to back up. What I will tell you is that accessibility is something I actively pay attention to rather than an afterthought.

If any part of this site is hard for you to use, tell me and I'll fix it. That's not a form letter — send me a note about what didn't work and I'll get on it.
